WordRake Establishes Alliances with More Bar Associations

August 19,2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WordRake Establishes Alliances with More State Bar Associations: Arkansas, Colorado, and Oklahoma

Bar Association Members from These States Can Now Purchase WordRake Editing Software
at Preferential Rate

SEATTLE – Today, WordRake®, creator of the first editing software for lawyers, announced strategic alliances with the State Bar Associations of Arkansas, Colorado, and Oklahoma.  After careful consideration, each Association voted to list WordRake on its website as an affinity partner, and to offer WordRake to its members at a discounted rate.  These states join the Washington State Bar Association, which established a strategic alliance with WordRake in March 2013.

Thousands of legal professionals now use WordRake software to edit documents quickly for clarity and brevity.  The writer creates a document in Microsoft Word, clicks the “Rake” button, and in seconds the software detects and highlights words that add no meaning.   The writer then accepts or rejects WordRake’s suggestions.  The software saves time and money for lawyers and their clients.  Since lawyers must be prolific writers without an editor, WordRake software is an ideal, affordable “second set of eyes” to improve their work product.

According to Jim Calloway, Director of Management Assistance Program at Oklahoma Bar Association, “I consider myself a good writer and was a bit skeptical that WordRake could improve my writing.  I was pleasantly surprised.  WordRake often suggests several meaningful improvements per page.  My writing is tighter now as WordRake always reduces unnecessary words and phrases.”

“We are thrilled to add these state bar associations to our roster of strategic alliances,” said Jim Figel, CEO of WordRake.  “Bar associations provide important resources for lawyers, including access to selected software tools at preferential rates.  We are honored that WordRake has been approved by these organizations and look forward to communicating with their members to help them write better and faster.”

About WordRake Software
WordRake’s law practice software provides a unique editing platform within Microsoft Word.  It “rakes” through each document to suggest edits for tighter writing, saving lawyers time and money, and giving them the confidence their brief, letter, or memorandum is clear and concise.  Any professional will benefit from WordRake software’s keen eye for finding words and phrases that add no meaning.  For its unique technology, WordRake has been awarded six patents by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Based in Seattle, the company was founded in 2011 by lawyer Gary Kinder, a bestselling author and nationally-known speaker who has taught over 1,000 writing programs to law firms like Jones Day, Latham & Watkins, Sidley, and WilmerHale.  He is the author of the critically acclaimed, New York Times bestseller, Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea.  For the American Bar Association, he has created the online, interactive series "Advanced Writing for Lawyers,” presented writing webinars, and taught twenty live, all-day ABA programs on writing.
