Volunteer Opportunity at Mid Year Meeting

January 16,2013

Volunteer Opportunity

When: January 25, 2013

Where: Mid Year Meeting in Memphis (Peabody Hotel). A box for donations will be placed inthe break room.

What: Goods for the Ronald McDonald house in Memphis

I am Vicki Vasser, the 2012-13 YLS Chair, and I would like to invite you to be a part of something special that is happening this year at the Arkansas Bar Association’s Mid-Year Meeting in Memphis. This year, while attending the meeting, you will have the opportunity to join the YLS Council as it supports the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. For those of you unfamiliar to Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald House® ofMemphis is a “home-away-from-home” for families who are in Memphis while their child is receiving treatment for cancer or another catastrophic illness at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since 1991, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis has been giving familiesthe gift of “Home” completely free of charge. Since opening, more than 6,400 families havebeen given a warm bed, a warm meal, and when needed, a warm hug from another family fighting the same battle. Through the generous support we receive from the community, Ronald McDonald House is able to give families the most valuable commodity of all: more time. That means more time for playing, more time for laughing, and more time to say “I love you.” It is an independent, community supported, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. In an effort to assist those at the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis, YLS Council will becollecting items from the “Top 20 Wish List” below and delivering them when we visit thefacility on Friday morning. We are asking that each of you bring one or more of the items listedon the list found below.
