The Arkansas Bar Association is honored to have several judges provide short video clips on what they think is important for lawyers to hear from the bench. In our third video on the series, U.S. Magistrate Judge Joe J. Volpe shares some tips for members of the Arkansas Bar about trial practice and appearing in court, primarily about being prepared.
“I would urge lawyers to be very prepared anytime you go to court because one misstep due to a lack of preparation really can ruin all of your past deeds…. Be precise in what you want and don't bring in a lot of extraneous points or matters because that really doesn't help you succeed in what you're trying to do.”
