MANDATORY DISCLOSURE OF PROFESSIONAL
LIABILITY INSURANCE
A.
Each attorney admitted to the practice of law shall
certify as a part of the annual registration on or
before March 31st of each year: (1) that the attorney
is engaged in the practice of law representing clients
drawn from the public, and whether the attorney is
covered by professional liability insurance; or, (2)
that the attorney is engaged in the practice of law
as a full-time government attorney or in-house counsel,
and does not represent clients outside that capacity.
B. The foregoing shall
be certified by each attorney admitted to the practice
of law in this jurisdiction in such form as may be
prescribed by the Supreme Court. The information
submitted pursuant to this Rule will be made available
to the public by publishing a list of those attorneys
who disclose that they are engaged in the practice
of law representing clients drawn from the public
and are not covered by professional liability insurance
on the court's website or by such other means as may
be designated by the Supreme Court.
C. Each attorney admitted
to the practice of law in this jurisdiction who reports
being covered by professional liability insurance
shall notify the Supreme Court Clerk in writing within
30 days, if the insurance policy providing coverage
lapses, is no longer in effect, or for any reason
terminates.
D. Any attorney admitted
to the practice of law who fails to comply with this
Rule may be suspended from the practice of law until
such time as the attorney complies. Supplying false
information in response to this Rule shall subject
the attorney to appropriate disciplinary action.
