A. The Arkansas Bar Association is a private, non-profit, voluntary association of over 5,000 licensed attorneys. The Association provides a variety of services to its members and the public, and undertakes projects to improve the justice system in Arkansas. The licensing of attorneys and regulation of the practice of law are functions of the Supreme Court of Arkansas.

Q. Can the Arkansas Bar Association give me legal advice or answer questions about legal issues?

A. Sorry, no. We have no practicing attorneys on staff. If you need a lawyer but don’t have one, consult arkansasfindalawyer on this website. It will give you information about attorneys in various parts of the state who handle specific kinds of cases. For low-income persons needing help in non-criminal matters, one should contact the Legal Services Program in your area of the state - Call toll free 800-952-9243 or visit http://www.arlegalservices.org/

 

Q. I want to file a complaint against a lawyer. What do I do?

A. Contact the Arkansas Supreme Court’s Committee on Professional Conduct at 625 Marshall Street, Little Rock, AR 72201, or call 501-376-0313 or 800-506-6631. You will receive a complaint form and a letter explaining the complaint process and telling you what documentation you should provide.
